excitement!! and planning!!

so..
a lot has happened in the past month.
we found a house, and we'll be closing on may 4th!!
we went back to the east coast for a family visit and to become godparents to the little ball of pudge ryan! (my brother's second kid)
AND!! we finally set a date for our wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
july 31
yes this year not next!
yes we know it only gives us 3 months to plan a cross country wedding
and close on our house
and get some basic stuff fixed
and move
i'm getting tired just thinking of it
but the good news it it will be a backyard bar-b-q low key wedding
like us
unless my mom does something crazy
(please don't i know you are reading this)
i will not be a bride-zilla
but there is a slight chance for a mom-zilla
i get the fact that i am her only daughter and she's excited
but
i am not one of those girls that has been planning my wedding forever
i'm currently focused on planning the house
the house!!!
i can't wait to post pictures, but i wan to wait until it is legally ours!
before we move we're redo-ing the bathroom (EWWWW its nasty) and the floors (for convenience with out all our shit there)
and we're gonna paint the kitchen cabinets...AVOCADO!!! i got rob to agree to an avocado kitchen!!
once we get in i'll have tons of pics, before and after
for now i guess i'll get back to packing...
and maybe planning a wedding...

what i won't miss about retail (part 1)

so we did it..we put an offer in on a house!!! i'm dying right now. here's our problem--its a short sale so i was doing my daily perusing of new listings on redfin my preferred real estate site (great inter-active map if you don't know neighborhoods or zip codes!) and this house came up on a block that is awesome and we never thought we'd get into. i clicked on it and its a short sale. i decided to email it to the real estate lady anyways. she lets me know that the listing agent is someone they have worked with prior and she is difficult. great. so we wait a week. then i called the real estate lady to see if there was any word on getting in bc we were very very interested! she suggested we put in an offer pending an interior inspection if we felt that strongly about it. so i talked to the man and we were like HELL!
