disappointment

we bought a pummelo
it was huge.
we cut it open
it was a huge disappointment
there is sooo much skin

probably should have found out what it was before i bought it
guess we'll stick to oranges...

Today little man is 13  months old! Since I didn't post about his awesome cake on his bday I'll tell you all about it now! But first the recipe. Blueberry Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature 1¾ cup granulated sugar 4 large eggs, room temperature 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 cup buttermilk ½ teaspoon salt 1½ pints blueberries Blue Food Coloring 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature 1 8oz package cream cheese, room temperature 3 cups confectioner's sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. so yes its been almost a month since i've shared the house with anyone we were supposed to get keys on may 4 originally so my parents booked a flight to come out and help us fix and move!  so dad was coming on may 4 to knock out some big stuff like the bathroom and mom was coming on may 8 since my vacation didn't start until may 9 (which was also mother's day so i thought it would be nice to give my mom a paint brush for mother's day-jk). so nice of them until we got the call the there was a court issue and we would not get keys until may 7. so mom looked into changing dad's to may 8 to fly with her and it just didn't make sense money-wise. so dad was going to get some quality time with rob that did not involve working on a house. so dad comes in and on may 5 he goes with me to sign the escrow paperwork!! then we find out that we are not getting keys on may 7- that is the final day for the court confirmation! we are not going to get the keys until probably may...

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!! (and then ignored)

so i have a friend from college, let's call him bob. he's a writer now. (he is also magic, so let's call him magic bob)  he recently sent me a link to a article he had just published (although he mostly writes fiction). its about national novel writing month. it got me inspired to try to write a blog update everyday!! ok, everyday is not really realistic bc i'm kinda boring so once a week. yeah, i can do that!! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! then i did nothing. i suck. so here i can trying to make up for it now and even sharing the link to magic bob's article! you should check it out. and maybe even try to write a little something everyday or at least once a week! you still have over half a month yet. as a matter of fact, so do it. now i need to take my own advice. and mentally writing s blog update does not count unless it is typed and posted for all to see! and actually i should have some recipes coming up to share, as we are hosting our thanksgiving in out new house!!...
